At PKS Interiors, we carry thousands of designer home decor fabrics from trade-focused mills and textile houses, with weights and performance ratings appropriate for drapery, upholstery, bedding, outdoor cushions, and fine decorative accents.
Our workroom handles custom drapery panels, roman shades, cornices and valances, decorative pillows, bench and window-seat cushions, outdoor furniture cushions, duvet covers, and slipcovers.

Linens, silks, velvets, sheers, and patterned weaves suited to window treatments. Weights range from airy sheer fabrics that filter light to blackout-lined heavyweight drapery for bedrooms and media rooms. Available plain, lined, or interlined for additional body and light control.
Heavier-weight fabrics rated for furniture use, including sofas, chairs, ottomans, benches, and headboards. We carry natural fibers (linen, cotton, wool), performance weaves, and high-rub-count commercial-grade fabrics for high-traffic applications.
UV-resistant, water-resistant, mildew-resistant fabrics for outdoor furniture cushions, patio seating, and indoor spaces that take heavy use — family rooms, mudroom benches, pet-friendly spots. Popular names like Sunbrella and other performance brands available through our trade accounts.
Lightweight, translucent fabrics for layered drapery and soft privacy. The right match behind heavier drapery panels or as standalone window treatments in rooms where you want diffused light without fully blocking it.
Florals, stripes, geometrics, ikats, damasks, and custom-scale prints for pillows, accent chairs, and statement drapery. Pattern scale matters enormously — a large-scale print in a small room overwhelms; a small-scale print in a great room disappears. We'll steer scale during the consultation.
Velvet, silk, linen, embroidered and appliquéd fabrics, hand-blocked prints, and trim for custom pillows, bedding, and special-occasion drapery.
We are family-owned since 1984. Forty years in Los Altos means forty years of trade relationships with decorator fabric mills and workroom partners. That depth shows up in the fabrics we can access and the quality of the soft goods we make.
Trade access to designer fabric mills. Many of the fabric houses we work with don't sell directly to the public. Coming through an established retailer like us is how homeowners get access to the collections you see in design magazines.
In-house and trusted workroom partners. Custom soft goods are only as good as the workroom that makes them. We've refined our fabrication process over four decades — proper lining, proper interlining where needed, proper hem weights, pattern centering, and finish work that matches the fabric's quality.
Showroom-based consultation. Visit 335 1st Street in downtown Los Altos and spend time with the fabric library in person. Pattern, color, and texture read completely differently in natural light at home than under retail fluorescents — we'll lend you samples to live with before you commit.
One-stop design across rooms. Most fabric projects we handle are part of larger home updates. We also do custom drapery, plantation shutters, window blinds, flooring, and full remodels, so the whole room can be coordinated through one team.

In many cases, yes. We regularly work with COM (customer's own material) projects — meaning you supply the fabric and we handle the fabrication. We'll need to assess the fabric first to confirm it's suitable for the intended use (correct weight, no defects, enough yardage). Bring the fabric to your consultation or have it shipped to our Los Altos address.
Custom decorative pillows typically run $75 to $250 each depending on the fabric, size, finishing (piping, flange, cord), and fill type.
Designer fabrics and specialty finishes push the higher end. Most Los Altos clients order pillows in sets of 4 to 8 to coordinate with upholstery or drapery.
Custom roman shades in Los Altos typically run $300 to $900 per shade depending on the fabric, the shade style (flat, hobbled, relaxed), the lining (lined, blackout, or interlined), and the window size. We offer an itemized quote during the consultation.
Most custom soft goods are finished in three to six weeks from fabric selection to delivery or install. Pillows are on the faster end (three to four weeks); drapery and roman shades on the slower end depending on fabric lead time. Specialty fabrics with longer mill lead times can push to eight weeks.
Yes!
We use performance fabrics (Sunbrella and similar UV-resistant, mildew-resistant lines) and mildew-resistant foam for outdoor furniture cushions, patio seating, and deck benches. Outdoor cushions need different fabric specs and fill than indoor — we'll match spec to use.
Often, yes. Bring a swatch of the existing fabric (or a cushion, a pillow cover, or a photo of the drapery) to your consultation. We can usually either identify the original mill and source a match, or find a coordinated fabric that reads as if it were part of the same collection.
Reupholstery is often a separate trade from window-treatment fabrication. We handle slipcovers in-house, and for full reupholstery projects we can typically refer you to trusted local upholsterers we've worked with for years.
