Vinyl flooring covers a whole family of products. Here's a quick breakdown of what we carry and where each one works best.

Sheet vinyl. The classic roll-out vinyl flooring. Comes in wide rolls that install with minimal seams, which makes it the most water-tight option for bathrooms, laundry rooms, mudrooms, and basements. Often the most affordable vinyl you can buy.

Vinyl tile (VT). Individual tiles glued down in a grid pattern. Great for mudrooms, entryways, and kitchens where you want a tile look without the cost or maintenance of ceramic.

Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT). Commercial-grade vinyl tiles you'll see in offices, schools, retail stores, and medical buildings. Durable, easy to replace one tile at a time, and built for heavy foot traffic.

Resilient vinyl. A broad category covering modern, upgraded sheet vinyl and plank products with cushioned backing and realistic wood or stone visuals. Affordable middle ground between plain sheet vinyl and full luxury vinyl plank.

Linoleum. Often confused with vinyl but technically different. Made from natural materials like linseed oil and cork. Armstrong makes both. We can help you compare.

Both are "vinyl," but they're different products at different price points.

Traditional vinyl (sheet vinyl, VT, VCT) is the original category. Flat, thinner, affordable, and installed as a roll or individual tiles. Most common in kitchens, baths, laundry rooms, rentals, and commercial spaces.

Price range: $3 to $7 per square foot installed.

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and tile (LVT) is the newer, thicker, rigid-core option that looks nearly identical to real hardwood or stone. Usually fully waterproof with WPC or SPC cores.

Price range: $5 to $12 per square foot installed.
