Decorative rods, finials, rings, holdbacks, brackets, and motorized tracks — custom-sized and professionally installed.
Drapery hardware is the one element of a window treatment that stays visible whether the drapes are open or closed. If you pick the wrong rod, the wrong finial, or the wrong bracket, and the whole drapery reads cheap.
If you pick the right hardware, matched to the drapery weight and the room's architecture, and the result looks intentional and tailored.
At PKS Interiors, we supply and install custom drapery hardware across Los Altos and the surrounding Bay Area.
Our selection covers decorative rods, traverse rods, motorized tracks, finials, rings, brackets, and holdbacks in wrought iron, hardwood, brushed nickel, brass, chrome, and contemporary acrylic finishes.
Whether you're hanging new custom drapery, retrofitting existing panels, or converting manual drapery to motorized, we size, source, and install the hardware to match.
Proudly serving:Los Altos, Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Santa Clara, Saratoga, and the surrounding Bay Area.

Drapery hardware isn't one thing. It's a system, where each piece matters.
Here's what we install:
The most common and visible piece of hardware. Available in wood, wrought iron, brushed metal, polished chrome, brass, and contemporary acrylic. Diameters range from slim ¾" contemporary rods up to 2" or larger traditional rods. We'll match the rod diameter to the drapery weight and the scale of the window.
A cord-operated rod with carriers that pull the drapery open and closed along a track. Less visible than decorative rods and generally used when the drapery itself is the design focus. The right choice for functional drapery in bedrooms, home offices, and media rooms where operating frequency is high.
Motorized drapery is a natural fit for the tall glass walls and two-story foyer windows common in Los Altos Hills.
As an authorized Hunter Douglas dealer, we install motorized drapery tracks that integrate with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, Control4, and Crestron.
You can schedule drapery to open with sunrise, close at sunset, or operate on voice command. A single push opens or closes a 20-foot expanse of fabric smoothly.
The decorative end caps on a rod. Finial choice is where the rod's personality comes from. Options range from simple ball or dome finials for transitional rooms, to ornate scroll and spear finials for traditional and Mediterranean rooms, to clean square or disc finials for modern homes. Most custom rods offer dozens of finial options in the same finish family.
How the drapery attaches to the rod. Options include traditional sew-on rings, clip rings (faster, works with any fabric), and concealed grommets. Ring finish and size should match the rod and for heavier drapery, ring count matters for even drape.
The decorative hardware that holds drapery open when drawn back. Holdbacks mount to the wall and the drapery loops around them; tiebacks use a cord or sash. Both are design moments and worth matching to the rod finish.
Ceiling-mount brackets allow drapery to hang from the ceiling plane rather than the wall, popular in modern and contemporary homes with floor-to-ceiling windows.
We are family-owned since 1984. Forty years of specifying, sourcing, and installing drapery hardware in Bay Area homes. We've seen what holds up and what doesn't.
Authorized Hunter Douglas dealer. Full access to the Hunter Douglas Design Studio™ Drapery hardware line and PowerView® motorized systems, with manufacturer warranty and certified installation.
Measurement and installation included. We don't just sell rods — we measure to your specific windows, spec the bracket load for your drapery weight, and install with reinforcement where drywall alone won't hold. Wide rods get proper center support. Heavy drapery gets anchored to studs or blocking.
Designed to pair with your drapery. Hardware looks right only when it's chosen alongside the drapery, the wall color, and the trim. If you're also buying drapery from us, we design the full system as one piece.
Showroom-based. Come into our Los Altos Village showroom at 335 1st Street and see and handle the hardware in person. We'll pull finial samples and rod sections so you can see the scale against your drapery fabric swatches.

Usually, yes!
Motorized tracks can be retrofitted to many existing drapery setups, depending on the drapery header style and the fabric weight. We'll assess during the consultation. Motorized retrofits are especially popular in Los Altos Hills homes with tall windows where manual operation has become awkward.
Yes!
We regularly install drapery panels purchased from other sources, as long as the fabric and construction work with the hardware we source. Bring the drapery to the consultation or we'll assess it during the in-home visit.
Yes, and they're increasingly common in contemporary Los Altos Hills homes.
Ceiling-mount tracks let drapery hang from the ceiling plane rather than the wall, which maximizes drape height and creates a cleaner line on floor-to-ceiling windows. We spec track, brackets, and blocking as a complete system.
In most cases, yes. We can often identify the manufacturer and source matching hardware, or custom-order finishes that blend with what's already installed. Bring a photo and ideally one of the existing finials to your consultation.
